Lawn Care Flyers – Advertising Tip...

Lawn care flyers are one of the easiest and cheapest ways to grow your lawn care business. In today’s world, most people are too busy to take proper care of their lawns and gardens. Indeed, many of these same people would be happy to pay someone to help them out if the price is right.

Lawn care flyers can be handed out door-to-door with ease. I, myself, have received several of these just this season alone. Targeting areas around current clients is a simple way to work to increase your business. Spend thirty to sixty minutes walking around a neighborhood once you have finished a job to leave flyers at people’s doors.

As you do this, you are likely to meet people and it is often easy to engage in a conversation that leads to business. Hand out your lawn care flyers in the evenings and you have an even greater chance of meeting your next customer.

The biggest thing you will need to consider as you develop your lawn care flyers is your pitch, or unique selling proposition. You also want to consider your target market. Single parents, the elderly and busy business professionals are a great customer base for any lawn care business. Develop your message in a way that speaks to these individuals and you are sure to get their attention.

Another thing to consider is taking a clipboard and pen with you as you go around the neighborhood. You can take note of lawns and gardens that need work. At times, even I have been embarrassed by the condition of my lawn and, at these times, any passing professional would have been able to see that I needed a bit of help. In truth, between running my business and taking care of my family, I simply don’t have the time or energy needed to devote to my lawn and garden.

Lawn care flyers are a great way to encourage people to get the ball rolling when it comes to proper lawn care. There are many things you can do to increase your chances of gaining customers by passing out flyers. Here’s a short list of some:

  • Include a special discount, offer or package deal – Make sure the message is simple and easy to understand. It should also be timely, with an expiration date, and tempting.
  • Investigate what other companies in the area are offering. Meet or beat their offers or create a completely unique offering.
  • Create a message that gives value to the customer – “Spend more time with your kids and less time with the weeds this summer!!!! Enjoy a day at the pool while we give your lawn a makeover!!!”
  • Make sure the printing quality is good. You will waste time and money if you have poor looking lawn care flyers. This will translate to poor work quality on a subconscious level for potential customers. They will think to themselves… if they can’t make the time to ensure their flyers are good then how can I trust that they will make the time to take care of my lawn well?
  • Make sure your lawn care flyers communicate that you are a lawn care company at first glance. Don’t make your potential customers work too hard. A simple example would be green paper, with a lawn, leaf or garden border theme.
  • Your company name should be large and easy to find. Your company phone number should be the largest font and easiest to find on the page.
  • Keep images to a minimum. Too many pictures do not help sell your services. One or two very good images are enough to get your message across. Be very careful of what images you choose to use if you are printing black and white images. Color works best to communicate your services in pictures.

You can make your lawn care flyers extremely effective by keeping the above tips in mind. This will help to ensure that the time and money you spend will be worth it when it comes to your lawn care flyers.

Lawn Care Marketing – Get More Ref...

Lawn Care marketing efforts should include campaigns aimed at gaining more referral based business. Referrals are often the best customers as they already trust that you will do a good job. These customers have been sent to you by friends, family or colleagues. And, they have probably already seen your work.

Current and past customers are one of the best sources for growing your business. They have already spent money with you and they know how you work and the quality of service you provide. Taking care of these customers is critical to your success in the short and long term. And, getting referral based business from these customers is one of the cheapest and most effective marketing there is.

In addition to the high honor it pays your business. Incorporate a plan into your lawn care marketing that includes getting more referral based business.

How to Get Referrals

Most people don’t think of giving referrals unless they are specifically asked for one by a family member, friend or colleague. You should develop a referral program that encourages your current and past customers to send referrals your way. Market this program to current, past and potential customers to let them know how much you appreciate their support.

Referral Based Marketing

The key to successful referral based lawn care marketing is to reward your customers for their support. You need to give them a reason to refer someone to you. This reason is how you say “thank you”. Thank you for giving us your business. Thank you for trusting us to do a good job. Thank you for further supporting our business by sending others our way.

Sample Offers

• Get a $50.00 gift card to your favorite restaurant when your referral signs contract
• Refer three friends and receive 20% off your next invoice.
• Refer a friend and you both save 10% off your next project.
• Get your free “Rose Garden” guide when you refer a friend.
• Refer two friends who sign up for monthly lawn care and you get a month free.

Lawn Care Marketing – Build a Reco...

Lawn Care marketing efforts benefit from the creation of a recognizable brand. There are different levels and types of brands in this world. Some are easily brought to mind such as Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Kellog’s, and Target just to name a few.

However, branding is not reserved for large companies alone. Even small businesses such as your Lawn Care business can benefit from branding if done properly with the right focus. And, it is important to note that creating a brand image does not have to be difficult or expensive. Simple tricks can make you more recognizable and if you incorporate a brand message into your lawn care marketing efforts it can quickly become known in your community.

How Branding Benefits Your Lawn Care Business

First, a recognizable brand gives your business an identity in the community. Second, a brand helps you develop trust and credibility with your customers. Many people do not know how easy this is and they are impressed by the efforts of brand marketing. Finally, creating an image helps your customers and potential customers remember you when they need your services.

Inexpensive Branding

Begin with creating a lawn care marketing message that you include in all your advertising and company communications. Identify your business with a color and/or logo. My color is blue. I use it in all of my communications including using blue envelopes when I send out mail. My clients know that they are receiving communications from me when a blue envelope lands on their desk. Plus, it stands out from the pile working to make sure my communications are received. Finally, create a mission statement for your company. Give this to customers and employees. Work to live up to this statement and welcome feedback (both positive and negative) from customers.

In the End…

Your brand image should be positive. And, it should focus on how customers benefit from working with you instead of your competition. Creating a solid USP (Unique Selling Proposition) is a very good place to start when working on your brand. Build something positive and recognizable and your customers will remain loyal and help you grow. You should include these elements in all of your lawn care marketing.
